Our first year as owner of the former RAF Brüggen is almost over. The zoning-plan procedure has started and we have completed first clean-up works. The start of construction works will still take some time. And yet, a lot has happened at the site. Our 2022 review:
All participants of the recent bus tour of the former RAF Brüggen can confirm: Even abandoned, the area is impressive. Numerous drills on the site have highlighted that the old military base can even be useful in its present state. The base welcomed several guests such as the Elmpt volunteer fire brigade, the North Rhine-Westphalian police and federal special forces. We are very pleased that we were able to make this exceptional training ground available to first responders. We have a small selection of impressions, provided with the consent of all organisations involved, in the picture gallery below.
Our team has used the year to further develop our concept for the future Javelin Park. We are getting to know the area a little better every day and are working intensively on a consistent master plan for a modern and sustainable business park. Another highlight was undoubtedly the information event for all interested parties in October. The continuing high level of interest, the lively exchange and many new impulses have given us additional momentum.
In 2023, we will continue to inform you about our progress. With the creation of building rights, the plans for Javelin Park will be further refined.
In the meantime, we wish you a wonderful season and a happy new year. Let’s take the opportunity to remember the many volunteers and professional helpers in all first-responder institutions who give their best every year for our health and safety.
Yours,
Team Verdion
